Question: Where do you think is a more aesthetically appealing place on the body for a lotus flower tattoo?

I have been wanting a tattoo of a lotus flower for quite some time now; and now I am seriously considering going forward with it. I know I want it on my left side, but cannot decide on the exact location. I either want it farther up, closer to my ribs; or farther down, closer to my hip. I'm leaning more toward putting it on my hip because it's more of a "fleshy " area and the rib area may be more painful. I would also like to consider which spot would look better. Your thoughts? The tattoo will be around 3 " x 3 " if that helps. Thank you! Christy - I live in the U.S. but I don't know very many people here with my name, either! :- )

However, I think it would be cute/ girly to do especially with a flower design. Dont get it on your rib. i swear to god everyone is doing that now and it is so stupid. so of your choices i would get in on your hip. i think it would also be cute on the back of your shoulder.

I depends, round the ribs would definetly hurt more however down by the hips would be seen quite a lot more when wearing jeans and crop tops etc. and will generally be more noticable the ribs would be more discrete...i think the hips area would look better but it would be seen a lot more up 2 u xx OMG WE HAVE THE SAME NAME!!! do you live in the USA or the UK cos im in the UK ...i know one other person in the UK with my name...weird...lol x

Tattoos on the rips hurt like a MF'r! The ribs would be very very painful. Im not a she but if I were then i would get it right where my ribs end on the low side, so between my ribs and my hip, also ask your tattoo artist they do that for a living and have given lots of tattoos so often their advice is some of the best as far as pain/ pain tolerance advice and the best looking place for the tattoo.

I say, get it up higher towards your ribs. It is not going to hurt that much more getting it higher. I only say to do it there, because if you end up gaining weight for any reason (pregnancy or just plain gaining weight) your hips will gain weight and might stretch the tattoo, where as on your ribs, you won't gain as much. I think a lotus on your ribs would be so cute.

Hip sounds better. i have a cousin that is named christie but as you see she spells it differently. it is pretty common here in TX. good luck, have 4 tats & waiting to get more!

Hip definatly its easy to cover up when you want to but its also right there if you wanna show it off good luck :)
