Where do you think is a more aesthetically appealing place on the body for a lotus flower tattoo?
I have been wanting a tattoo of a lotus flower for quite some time now and now I am seriously considering going forward with it. I know I want it on my left side, but cannot decide on the exact location. I either want it farther up, closer to my ribs or farther down, closer to my hip. I'm leaning more toward putting it on my hip because it's more of a " fleshy" area and the rib area may be more painful. I would also like to consider which spot would look better. I am wanting to get a tattoo on my neck of two lotus flowers, one open & one closed, & have searched around the net for pics but I can't find any I like. I want it to be pretty & feminine. I know the tattoo place can draw one up for me but I would like to have something to take first so I can use as a guideline. Hope you can help
Can I mix cherry blossoms with a lotus flower tattoo?
Wanting to do a Buddhism inspired sleeve. Wondering if I can mix cherry blossoms and lotus flowers? I'm not sure when they bloom. I kind of want to keep it traditional with the seasons so if they are from different seasons I won't mix them. Anybody know?Thanks Frosted Flake. Yea it will be a Buddhist themed 3 4 sleeve. I should have mentioned my other sleeve is Japanese work so this one will be of the same style. I remember Horiyoshi III saying you can't mix seasons because it isn't traditional. Then I hear other artists saying if you get tattooed in America it wouldn't be traditional anyways so I shouldn't worry about mixing.

Octopus tattoo with lotus flowers tattoo?
I have an octopus tattoo thats in progress on my ribs and i really want to add some flowers, but can't decide what. I was thinking about lotuses, but thought it might be weird since octopuses live in the ocean and lotuses are pond flowers. Would that be dumb, or should I get a seaside flower? I don't want any deep sea plants, like coral or anenome etc. They wouldn't go with the shape of my octopus. I want something round and graceful.

Lotus flower tattoo?
There is two people in my town that i know that have tattoos of lotus flowers. One i am close with, but hers is just a lotus flower with like a water fall and a tarus symbol. And the other lady is with swirls and a lotus flower and stars. I was thinking of getting a lotus flower or some sort of flower with a few petals falling off. this this okay or would it be copying? I dont want to have it the same but the lotus flower has alot of meaning to me. a family friend is an amazing custom tattoo artist and he will be doing it. I am seventeen years old. But the same artist did the lotus flower number two but i dont want it to be the same?
